It's never too early or too late for chiropractic!
My patient Cheryl brought her 93 year old father in this week for his very first holistic chiropractic treatment.
I've preached about the benefits of chiropractic for my younger patients, but what about the benefits of chiropractic treatments for seniors?
The benefits of holistic chiropractic for seniors includes but is not limited to: decreased pain levels, increased flexibility and range of motion, less falls, stronger bones and muscles, increased balance and coordination, better immune system function, elevated mood, better memory and cognitive function, decreased arthritis and joint degeneration, and more.
This is accomplished through chiropractic manipulation as well as muscle testing, muscle therapy, reflex point and meridian system work, mind-body techniques, and more. Through these tools I aid patients in increasing not only the health and function of their musculoskeletal system, but of their overall brain and nervous system as well.
People often ask how I adjust younger or older patients. Thankfully, I have been trained in a number of different techniques, including traditional diversified chiropractic adjusting, activator adjusting, toggle board adjusting, Thompson drop piece, respiratory adjusting, and more. These techniques range from higher force to more gentle. I use a variety of these techniques with all of my patients, including infants, children, and elderly. This allows me to treat all different populations of people.
Thanks so much to Cheryl for bringing her father in for his very first treatment! Cheryl knew how important it would be for her father to receive chiropractic care while he was here visiting from Guyana. It was my pleasure to help bring healing and optimal well-being to him.

Patients old and young alike ask me about the possibility of holistic chiropractic care in helping issues of ear infections, sinusitis, allergies, congested ears and sinuses, and similar issues. Parents of young children also ask me about the possibility of chiropractic care alleviating their children's often chronic ear infections.
The answer is absolutely.
Chiropractic manipulation, particularly to the neck, as well as cranial (skull) bone manipulation, amongst other work, helps the ears and sinuses to drain by relieving mechanical pressure on these structures.
Adjustments also help to remove obstruction of the lymphatic drainage channels (waste drainage) channels running through the head and neck, allowing them to properly dump into the lymph system to be drained from the body.
In addition, chiropractic manipulation stimulates nerves traveling to the sinuses and ears, which helps promote healing and clearing through direct brain and nervous system instruction.
I have known patients to literally have their ear infections resolve within 24-48 hours of their appointment. Many people also tell me that they can actually feel their ears and sinuses draining while we work on them in the treatment room. The results can be instantaneous!
Holistic chiropractic treatment can be an excellent choice for conservative management of ear infections, sinus infections, allergies, and more.

Wonderful news flash: I recently received notice of and my certificate of Proficiency in the Webster Technique through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association! I am officially a Webster certified chiropractor.

Chiropractic care during pregnancy is essential to the normal physiology of both mother AND baby. The Webster technique is a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment which aims to reduce pelvic imbalances and improve neurological and musculoskeletal function in both mother and baby.

Pelvic imbalances can lead to discomfort and hinder labor which can also lead to unnecessary intervention during birth.

Research has revealed that this particular type of adjustment may contribute to safer, easier births and alleviate the many symptoms of difficult pregnancy/labor.

Dr. Larry Webster, founder of the Webster technique, also noticed that in most cases when a woman had a breech presentation, babies would often turn to the more desirable head down position after undergoing this type of treatment.

I am very much looking forward to providing prenatal and pediatric chiropractic care to more people! Please help me to spread the good word.

Thanks to my patient Claudia for undergoing regular prenatal chiropractic care in her very first pregnancy. We can't wait to meet her baby boy Brayden!
