Lately there have been quite a number of bugs going around, and people getting sick frown emoticon
While we do appreciate the concern from our patients about coming in to the office while they are sick, there is truly no better time to come in for your chiropractic kinesiology treatment!
I always talk about how a chiropractic treatment can boost the immune system (the body's fighter and protective system), but I recently came across this info graphic that states exactly how a chiropractic adjustment does that. This info graphic cites some awesome research that has been done to determine exactly how chiropractic is enhancing the body's immune system, and it's pretty amazing!
There was also a study done in 1994 on HIV positive patients who were receiving regular chiropractic care. These patients showed an incredible 48% increase in immune system cells to fight viruses.
By getting treated and enhancing nervous system function, you will likely improve your odds of beating illness in quicker time, while being more comfortable, and ensuring better immunity in the future to such bugs!
In my opinion, a chiropractic kinesiology treatment is better than any drug or medicine in combating sickness. At the first sign that I am coming down with something, I schedule to get treated myself right away. The best thing to do is to strengthen your body's own defenses.
On a final note, again not to worry- we disinfect the entire office and my treatment room often to make sure we keep it a sanitary, healthy, and happy place!
Here's to a fun Friday for everyone and a rejuvenating rest of the weekend!
It's Monday and we are back in full swing here at the office!
My patient Pat was kind enough to share some photos of her recent treatment here at Synergy Chiropractic!
In addition to working on some hip pain, some of Pat's concerns are arthritis and osteoporosis, two conditions that tend to be common in our society.
I address arthritis- inflammation of the joints of the body, and osteoporosis-decreased bone and particularly bone strength, from a holistic perspective.
First and foremost, I inspect and treat the musculoskeletal structure of the body, making sure that all joints that may be restricted and need to be adjusted are adjusted. I check for the necessity of a chiropractic adjustment with my muscle testing. Depending on the muscle testing results, I know whether to manually adjust the spine or to use a more gentle technique to restore alignment. Appropriately adjusting the spine results in decreased swelling, inflammation, pain, and stiffness throughout the body, as well as improved nervous system function and thus overall body function.
The structural system is definitely not the only part of joint issues and bone disease. I also check for any biochemical stressors that may be contributing to arthritis and osteoporosis. This includes organ system weakness, high levels of inflammation in the body, food sensitivities like what, dairy, corn, soy, and sugar, nutrient deficiencies, and more.
A common food sensitivity that I find with osteoporosis is wheat and grains. Wheat is acidifying to the gastro-intesitnal tract. In an effort to buffer the blood to keep it from getting to acidic, the body will pull minerals like calcium and magnesium from the bones into the bloodstream. Years of eating too many grains in the diet can result in bone loss throughout the body.
Another deficiency I also find is protein. If the body is low in protein due to low dietary protein intake, the body will pull protein out of the synovial fluid in the joints, leaving the joints weakened and vulnerable.
These are two great examples of why it is so important to check for any biochemical issues with any kind of joint related issue or disease, in addition to working on the skeletal structure with our holistic manual therapies.
Thanks Pat for sharing, and thank you all for reading!
Hello from our first patient of the day, little 1 year old Sienna!
Sienna is in for a chiropractic kinesiology treatment to help keep her immune system boosted and functioning optimally while she battles a bacterial infection. She also had some recent blood work done that revealed small amounts of lead in her system, which we focused on helping her to detox out of her body.
Sienna needed a few adjustments and some bodywork and one special homeopathic remedy, and she was on her way!
What a great way to kick off our Wednesday! Hope you all are having a good hump day as well.
